The use of naming conventions or subject codes enables data to be recognised and shared. A suite of National Competencies derived from the Core Skills Training Framework is available to use for those employers that have access to the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This means that NHS organisations in England that have submitted their Core Skills Training Framework Declaration of Alignment can use the National Competencies in the ESR for recording and reporting training activity that is Core Skills Training Framework aligned.
