Bookings are now open for the Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP), delivered by Skills for Justice Training, with Skills for Health supporting engagement across the health and care sector.

This nationally recognised qualification – the only one endorsed by Counter-Terrorism Policing and the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) – has been developed to strengthen protective security capability and preparedness across public-facing environments, including health and social care settings.

Healthcare organisations operate in high-footfall, open environments where the need for effective protective security is both critical and evolving. This programme supports organisations to build the awareness, capability and confidence required to respond to that challenge.

What the qualification covers

This five-day, tutor-led programme introduces the core principles of counter-terrorism protective security and preparedness, including:

  • Understanding terrorist threats and attack methodologies
  • Interpreting counter-terrorism threat assessments
  • Identifying and applying mitigation strategies
  • Contributing to risk assessments and preparedness planning
  • Developing written recommendations to strengthen security

Learners are assessed through a multiple-choice examination, written assignment and professional discussion.

Further course details can be found on the Skills for Justice Training website.
