Healthcare Apprenticeship StandardsHealthcare Apprenticeship Standards Online (HASO) have recently launched a range of online resources aimed at supporting apprentices and employers navigate the changes to apprenticeships as a result of COVID-19.

Almost every industry, sector and job role across the world has been impacted in some way by the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the same is certainly true for those undertaking apprenticeships, or employers delivering them.

As the situation quickly escalated throughout March, many were unsure of what the impact would be on the training, delivery and assessment of apprenticeships, until guidance was released by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) on the 23rd March.

Since then, more information and support has started to become available to ensure that apprentices and those delivering apprenticeships have all they need to continue to support the thousands of individuals during their training.

HASO, commissioned by HEE and hosted by Skills for Health, is a one-stop-shop for healthcare apprenticeship standards, to search for and download standards that are in development or are approved and ready to use.

The team are now also providing a range of support and resources to help during the crisis. The website, which is updated daily with new information, includes recent guidance about End-Point assessment for Registered Nurse and Nursing Associate Apprenticeships.

In addition to this, Skills for Health can support employers who are still currently able to register on the Register of Approved Training Providers, as it has recently been announced that the register will remain open for employers and training providers delivering apprenticeships in critical sectors.

Visit HASO for regular updates on all things healthcare apprenticeships in relation to COVID-19.
