Key National Policies

Government health departments and policy makers across the UK look to Skills for Health to help them interpret the workforce implications of new policy.

In this respect we act as the voice of healthcare employers as well as working in partnership with UK governments to support employers in the implementation of national policies.

This support has involved:

  • establishing key function and competence gaps in addressing policy changes
  • supporting service leads to identify areas where new, expanded or transferable roles could be introduced
  • identifying the indicative education and training associated with new ways of working to support workforce skills development that might be necessary following policy changes.
