Are Maths and English included in the Bridging Programme?

No. Many learners will already have achieved maths and English qualifications before they start the Bridging Programme, or be in the process of acquiring these as part of their Apprenticeship. HE providers each have slightly different maths and English entry requirements.

In addition to the Bridging Programme and their vocational qualification, (and or some recognition of prior learning) learners will normally also need to have achieved GCSE Grade A* - C in English and maths or Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths, or another equivalent qualification and or complete internal tests in maths and English at interview, to gain a place on a HE vocational programme in health.

Whatever the HE provider’s maths and English requirements are, these should be made explicit by HE providers to learners and employers.
