Apprenticeships Northern Ireland
ApprenticeshipsNI is a programme offered by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) in Northern Ireland. Skills for Health works closely with healthcare employers in Northern Ireland to ensure that Apprenticeship training is relevant to the needs of the sector.
The ApprenticeshipNI frameworks are designed to benefit both apprentices and employers. Apprentices receive formal qualifications while employers gain a workforce whose training meets their needs – because part of the training is delivered on the job, employers are able to ensure that Apprentices have the skills that work best for their organisations.
Open to anyone over school leaving age, ApprenticeshipsNI are suitable for new recruits or to assist in the development of existing staff.
Apprenticeship frameworks specific to the health sector in Northern Ireland include Pharmacy, and Health and Social Care.
Work is currently underway to explore a potential ApprenticeshipNI framework in Dental Nursing and the Skills for Health team in Northern Ireland is also working with healthcare employers to explore other potential Apprenticeship Frameworks that may be suitable for their needs.
