Skills for Life

Skills for Life and Health aims to improve public health and patient care by developing the Literacy, Language and Numeracy (LLN) skills and practices of individuals and organisations within the health sector. This work supports the Government’s Skills for Life strategy and its drive to widen participation in learning and improve the skills base of the workforce.

Skills for Life initiatives and projects

Current Skills for Life and Health initiatives and projects include the development of tools to screen and assess LLN needs, developing a Whole Organisational Approach to Skills for Life, building capacity through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and embedding Skills for Life in programmes and provision.

Skills for Life and Health supports learning in literacy, numeracy and the English language.
