Many occupations, functions and skills issues are common to several or all sectors, including the health sector. ‘Cross sectoral’, generic, skills contribute to business success, mobility and employability and are in demand from employers in a number, if not all, sectors. They represent functions, occupations and skills issues common to several or all sectors, including the health sector. Evidence supporting this demand is apparent in the Sector Skills Agreements (SSAs) produced by Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) to date and in emerging SSAs, including that of Skills for Health.
Skills for Health is promoting and building cross sector (also referred to as cross cutting) work as an integral element of its own strategies and work programmes and collectively through the Skills for Business network.
