What is it all about?
The HSSA was established to
- provide momentum to the Joint Investment Framework
- monitor and review the Framework
- agree the strategic direction for engagement with and relationships between LSC and sector employers.
It will ensure a sustainable joint action agenda, encompassing the key workforce priorities and strategic policy direction within workforce plans across the sector.
The HSSA will be complemented by appropriate regional mechanisms that are existing or newly established where there are no current arrangements.
What are the Key aims of the HSSA?- Advise respective Government Departments, boards and funding bodies on the strategic priorities and direction for the effective use of public funds available to the LSC, sector employers and organisations – which supports learning and development for the sector workforce
- Ensure consistent implementation of the Joint Investment Framework at Regional level aimed at delivering effective learning at NHS pay-bands 1-4 and qualification levels 2,3 and 4 (inclusive of Skills for Life)
- Promote and disseminate recommendations and good practice to relevant Government Departments and other agreed bodies at national and regional levels
- Ensure that the work of the HSSA, the joint investment framework and its regional and local applications, are monitored, evaluated and renewed on an annual basis in line with future priorities, evidence based employer needs and the planning cycles of alliance partners.
