Introduction
Qualifications are the main currency for the measurement of skills and knowledge and as such are a central component of workforce planning, recruitment, commissioning, training, progression and service delivery.
This page and the links are designed to make clear the process for approvals and support for the extension of the period of accreditation of qualifications.
Please note that Skills for Health does not at this time endorse Training/ Education Providers or programmes that are not for inclusion in the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF).
Approvals Policy
The Skills for Health Approvals and Extensions Policy is designed to make clear the process and sector requirements for vocational qualification approval onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
Please note that this is a draft document that applies to the 2008 'approvals' pilot within the health sector. At the end of the pilot content of the document will be revised according to feedback from the pilot.
