Joint Investment Programme takes off in London

The ground-breaking partnership between Learning and Skills Council (LSC) London region, NHS London and Skills for Health, will see a worthwhile contribution of up to £10 million towards developing the skills of London’s current and future Bands 1-4 health sector workforce.

Skills for Health is delighted to see a serious commitment to widen access for learning and development for these staff bands.

By scoping the unique workforce development needs to deliver healthcare in London, the JIF will play a part in delivering the Sector Skills Agreement. The early implementation has been jointly led by two NHS London specialist advisors and Triangle the brokers, engaged by LSC London, to ensure the workforce training needs and provision meet the skills requirement for Bands 1-4.

This will be through planned visits by both parties to each NHS organisation and working with a named lead to ensure knowledge and understanding of the purpose of JIF in London. The aim is for each organisation to take this project forward as an integral part of their training and development strategy so working towards sustainability of skills development. This will enable the vision of JIF to meet the skills needs required for these workforce bands, to complement the delivery of excellent healthcare in London.
