We are delighted to announce the London Essential Skills Team has joined Skills for Health with effect from January 1st 2008. The team’s objectives are to train up small businesses in the independent and voluntary healthcare sector; help the unemployed get into work; support those who are interested in becoming selfemployed and/or setting up their own healthcare businesses; and provide services for training of Apprentices.
Amember of the team recently met the Prime Minister. Lucy Rouillon – a finalist in both the regional and national Apprentice of the Year 2007 – has been thanked by Gordon Brown for her achievements as an Advanced Apprentice working in the healthcare sector.
Lucy was one of four young people invited to meet the Prime Minister at Downing Street. She recently completed a two-year Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration through the NHS, before joining Skills for Health. She is now working as Support Skills Adviser within the Essential Skills Team.
