Skills for Health and its partners are making significant progress towards the completion of the first Sector Skills Agreements for Health in Northern Ireland and Wales. Both are in final stages with publication expected in early summer 2008.
In common with other Agreements, the vision is to bring benefits to employers and individual staff, and ultimately raise the quality of healthcare through a skilled and flexible workforce. Central to this is the need to ensure the sector workforce can deliver people centred services through team based approaches.
We have worked closely with the Welsh Assembly Government and the Northern Ireland Assembly to prioritise the agreements and strategies. By building effective partnerships, we will have a strong foundation for workforce change aimed at improving health and healthcare for the population.
