This approval brings the availability of employer designed Apprenticeships one step closer. The Standards and assessment plans are available for you to read here.

In the coming months, the Trailblazer group will continue to work towards a wider understanding of Apprenticeship reforms and what this means for employers. The group will also be engaging more with training providers, HEIs and those organisations wishing to offer Apprentice end point assessment as they get ready to be able to deliver the new Apprenticeships.

"We are delighted that these Apprenticeships have been approved today. Developed by employers with the support of Skills for Health, they are applicable across the whole health sector. We look forward to engaging with training organisations who wish to deliver these and support the healthcare workforce." Kay Fawcett & Jane Hadfield, joint chairs of the healthcare support worker and assistant practitioner trailblazer steering group.

John Rogers, CEO, Skills for Health: “Approval of these 2 new Apprenticeships marks a significant milestone in moving towards greater ownership of Apprenticeships in the health sector. We were pleased to be commissioned by Health Education England to support the Trailblazer group on the journey and we all understand the importance of this approval for employers. Our congratulations go to everyone involved.”
