core skills training updateAs part of its commitment to maintain and update the UK Core Skills Training Framework, Skills for Health has now completed its most recent update to the Statutory/Mandatory subjects in the framework.

There have been three updates to the Statutory/Mandatory framework since its original launch in 2013. The purpose of these updates is to ensure that references to legislation and expert guidance remain current and to provide greater clarification where needed.

New Subjects added

As part of this latest update, a new subject has also been added - Subject 8a: Preventing Radicalisation. This covers the learning outcomes required by ‘Prevent’ - part of the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy CONTEST which aims to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

The key updated documents are:

  • Statutory/Mandatory Subject Guide v1.3
  • Statutory/Mandatory User Guide v1.3
  • Mapping Tool for Statutory/Mandatory subjects v1.3
