Image: Junior Doctors’ contract update. With the implementation of the new junior doctor contract having now been confirmed as going ahead, as a current Doctors Rostering System (DRS) customer we want to now make this transition as smooth as possible for your trust.

As the leading provider of junior doctor rostering with over 15 years’ experience in ensuring safe and compliant working patterns for doctors, we have been working closely with NHS Employers throughout the negotiations to ensure that DRS will be ready to allow you to analyse your current rotas against the new contractual hours and rest rules and quickly highlight any rotas which may need to be changed as a result of the new rules.

Additionally DRS will be able to provide you with a pay analysis to determine the new costs associated with any rota under the new pay rules which will be replacing the banding system.

We’ve taken this opportunity to improve the functionality and interface of the system to make it more user friendly than ever, and are excited to be able to share more information on this in the next few weeks, to ensure that your trust are in a position to issue new contracts.

Skills for Health will be offering a range of free one day consultancy and training sessions throughout March and April across the country where our experts will be able to help you understand the impact on the new pay and safety rules on your current rotas, and details of these sessions will be provided in the next few weeks. We will also be running a series of free Webex “Drop In“ sessions throughout the coming months for anyone who is unable to make one of the roadshows.
