Leadership is no longer the role of select individuals but is the responsibility of everyone.  As ethical leadership is fast becoming a key theme throughout health and care sectors, it is instrumental that organisations develop leadership and management capabilities at all levels.

It is for this reason that Skills for Health has developed two leadership programmes offering valuable opportunities for participants to learn with and from colleagues from across the health sector.  These programmes are specifically tailored to address participants’ ‘real life’ work challenges and equip them with the skills, expertise and knowledge needed to enhance their leadership style.

Both accredited Leadership and Management Programmes focus on the culture and ethics of organisations and key leadership capabilities with the aim of enabling individuals to make real and sustained improvements on their own, in turn, benefitting their organisation.

How long is the programme?

The level 5 programme is a four day programme, delivered over four months. The level 3 programme is a three day programme, delivered over three months.

Who attends

Both level 3 and level 5 Leadership and Management Programmes are aimed at managers and leaders within a wide range of health sector organisations. The level 3 programme is, however, more geared towards those individuals who are new or aspiring leaders.

When does the next course start?

A few places are still available on the Level 5 Leadership and Development Programme in London, starting on 6 March, 2014. Please contact Jade Duffy on 0191 229 3409 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
