The roles of support workers are undoubtedly incredibly important to health services, through our valuable contributions we help to bring efficiency and excellence to patient care, which must be the top priority for any health service.

But there is still plenty of potential for support workers to do even more; we are ready and willing to contribute our expertise and skills to bring better patient services; and the main way which we want to see this happen is by being given more responsibility.

By being given more responsibilities we can help free up other resources across the health services; being able to do things such as opening a course of treatment can free up the time and even space of specialists to focus more on patients with complex needs. Being given improved roles means we can offer better career prospects to professionals, improved possibilities for savings within our services and the prospect of much better patient care.
