Cancer Information PrescriptionsLearn about information prescriptions and the cancer patient information pathways, and how best to put the theory into practice Endorsements: Endorsed by Macmillan Cancer Support & developed by NCAT - part of the National Cancer Course. Child Protection Awareness in HealthAn authoritative introduction to Child Protection Awareness, this course develops knowledge of child abuse signs and indicators; explores what to do if concerns arise; and provides guidance on good practice Endorsements: This course was written by the NSPCC in partnership with EduCare who are independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and hold the BSI quality mark. Equality & DiversityDelivers an understanding of equality and diversity and helps learners apply that knowledge in the healthcare environment Endorsements: The course was initially developed by the e-learning development team in Liverpool Community Health Trust, commissioned by NHS North West. The material in the course has since been revised for national use with the support of Skills for Health and E-Learning for Health. Fire Safety AwarenessStatutory training on the nature and causes of fire in healthcare facilities, with instruction in fire prevention, signage and equipment, and what to do when a fire starts Endorsements: Commissioned by the Department of Health (DH) and endorsed by National Association of Hospital Fire Officers (NAHFO) who approved its use to raise awareness and support existing training. Health & Safety AwarenessA course covering the responsibilities of both employers and employees in ensuring that facilities are safe for staff, patients and visitors. The course also covers how to manage risk and the procedures for reporting health and safety violations Endorsements: This course was originally commissioned by the Department of Health (DH) and is endorsed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Immunisation and VaccinationLearn about the practical and legal implications of immunisations and vaccinations, as well as best practice information Endorsements: The course was developed from a paper-based course produced by the Teaching PCT across Tees Valley and County Durham. This course can be undertaken in conjunction with the E-learning for Healthcare Healthy Child Suite of courses.
The infection prevention suite of courses includes the following courses Infection prevention and youEveryone has a role to play in the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI). Learners can explore the effects of healthcare-associated infections, how they are spread and how to help to prevent the spread of infection. Endorsements: This course is part of the infection prevention course which is a nationally endorsed course. Infusion DeviceSupports health and care staff to gain competence and confidence in using infusion devices, leading to a safer and more efficient way of working for both staff and patients Endorsements: Developed by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) the course is linked to the City and Guilds Certificate in the Safe Use of Infusion Devices, accredited at FE level 3, and endorsed by the NPSA. Manual HandlingThis course defines manual handling and explores associated injuries. The BOC Medical Gas Safety suite of courses which includes Nurse and Porter Training BOC Medical Gas Safety ' Nurse TrainingTo train the Designated Medical or Nursing Officer to a level of competence that allows the safe and effective management of medical gases at ward/department level Endorsements: BOC developed this course and keep the content of courses and learning outcomes updated and current to meet the needs of DH / NHS guidance, stemming from the DH policy HTM02-01 part B chapter 7.
