LMI is a complex area and one which is constantly evolving. Becoming familiar with LMI will support:
- Skills improvement - This could include occupational information, vacancy sources and workforce development trends. This type of information can help you to support staff to make an informed decision
- Development decisions – You can use LMI to help identify and research work options. For example, if a healthcare assistant is choosing between training as a registered nurse, an assistant practitioner or perhaps moving towards being an allied health therapist, LMI would help you to identify future workforce trends that might guide this decision.
- New role development – For example, Advanced Practitioners, Assistant Practitioners
