    As part of the Learning Services and Consultancy Directorate and reporting to the Learning Services Manager, the Learning and Apprenticeship Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development of and delivering an assigned workload of Learning and Apprenticeship support services and programmes, ensuring these are delivered in a cost-effective and professional manner in line with all relevant policies and procedures.

    Currently, Learning and Apprenticeship services provided by the Skills for Health group include the following:

    • Advice and guidance to employers on managing and mentoring apprentices in the workplace;
    • Advice and guidance to employers on recruiting, selecting and employing an apprentice and appropriate training provider;
    • Development and delivery of training and development programmes and the production of associated resources;
    • Apprenticeship employment and training agency (ATA) support for employers and apprentices;
    • Quality assurance of learning and apprenticeship delivery by associates and satellite centres and/or as offered through an NSA Health Excellence Centre or other licence holding body;

    Accountable to the Corporate Services Manager, the post holder will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day to day operations for all Skills for Health offices and facilities. In fulfilling the duties of the post, the post holder will work within established policies and protocols and will be expected to use their own initiative, seeking advice from appropriate Skills for Health staff where necessary, ensuring that the service requirements are complied with accurately and on time and are delivered in a professional customer focused way.

    The post holder will be required to work flexibly and provide cross cover as necessary in relation to administrative and corporate services support and ad hoc duties across Skills for Health, in addition to contributing to the reception duties of the Skills for Health Bristol office, providing a professional, courteous and friendly efficient service at all times.

    The post holder will manage and coordinate a range of activities and services requiring the post holder to analyse information and to make judgements and producing a range of recommendations.

    The post holder will be responsible for operational, day to day management of Skills for Health’s offices and facilities, ensuring they are fit for purpose, properly serviced and organised in a way that is matched to business need and compliant with relevant policy, legislative and regulatory provisions.

  • Web Developer (Moodle/PHP)

    The post holder will be primarily responsible for maintaining Skills for Health’s existing e-learning Moodle platform as well as a suite of PHP web-based tools, enhancing existing functionality, fixing software bugs, and working with hosting providers to ensure the e-learning platform and other tools continue to run smoothly.

    Acting as the lead developer on a range of assignments within Skills for Health’s Technical Development Team, and working on a number of Agile projects through all stages of the of the software development lifecycle - from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

    The post holder will advise the Technical development team on the strategic development of Skills for Health & Skills for Justice technical resources.

    There will on occasion be a requirement to work outside of normal office hours for essential tool/server maintenance.

    To lead the Qualifications and Product Development Team to develop qualifications and associated products in line with regulatory, organisational and customer requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Develop qualifications as required and in line with all quality and regulatory requirements
    2. Provide solutions to contrasting and conflicting stakeholders demands relating to the content of qualifications
    3. Respond to all technical enquiries and provide expertise, advice and guidance on regulated and non-regulated qualifications to customers, colleagues and other stakeholders
    4. Manage all development work to time, cost and quality, in line with SFJ Awards processes
    5. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
    6. Implement, review and improve SFJ Awards qualifications policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with regulatory requirements
    7. Provide expert input to the Quality and Standards Committee (QSC) on qualifications related matters
    8. Maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of developments in policy and practice in relation to qualifications, regulatory matters and Awarding Organisation developments
    9. Develop technical guidance materials to support the development, submission and use of qualifications
    10. Develop appropriate assessment methodologies to support the implementation of qualifications
    11. Ensure that all qualifications developed are made available and accessible to relevant customers
    12. Ensure that all qualifications are submitted to the relevant regulatory bodies in accordance with the requirements of such bodies
    13. Manage the review, updating and withdrawal of all qualifications offered by SFJ Awards
    14. Support the marketing, promotion and sale of qualifications and relevant products
    15. Ensure that equality of opportunity and valuing diversity is integrated into all activity and products
    16. Lead, manage and develop the Qualifications Development Team
    17. Support, and where directed lead, other product development activities of SFJ Awards including on-line developments
    18. Reflect SFJ Awards behaviours in ways of working both internally and externally
