    The Head of Operations: Business Development & Marketing is an important senior leadership position within Skills for Health. Accountable to the Executive Director of Business Services & Delivery the post holder will have primary responsibility for the operational management of key business development functions within the Skills for Health group and play a lead role in their strategic development.

    They will ensure good governance over operations and the delivery of corporate aims and objectives for their allocated functions. The post holder will build effective relationships within and across the health and justice sectors as well as contributing to the wider development and successful achievement of the organisation’s strategic, operational and financial plans.

    Key responsibilities:-

    • Accountable for the successful operation of the key business functions under their control;
    • Accountable for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction as it relates to their specific areas of control;
    • Accountable for good governance in the day to day operation of the business functions under their control consistent with SfH policies and procedures;
    • Ensuring VFM in all activities undertaken in the functions under their control;
    • Supporting the Executive Director to achieve overall successful management and leadership of the directorate and the realisation of their business objectives;
    • Support the Executive Director, CEO and Executive Team with business planning, organisational development, organisation leadership, performance management in pursuit of the organisations overall business objectives;

    The Head of Operations: Consultancy and Research Services is an important senior leadership position within Skills for Health. Accountable to the Executive Director of Learning Services and Consultancy, the post holder will have primary responsibility for the operational management of Consultancy and Research Services functions provided by Skills for Health (including under the National Skills Academy for Health and Skills for Justice brands) and will play a lead role in their strategic development. They will ensure good governance over operations and the delivery of corporate aims and objectives for their allocated functions. The post holder will build effective relationships within and across the health and justice sectors as well as contributing to the wider development and successful achievement of the organisation’s strategic, operational and financial plans.

    Presently these include:

    • Workforce and Organisational Development Consultancy Services
    • Technical Consultancy Services - associated with National Occupational Standards and Qualifications
    • Research and Labour Market Intelligence services

    Reporting directly to the Executive Director Learning Services and Consultancy the post holder’s key responsibilities will include:

    • Accountable for the successful operation of the key business functions under their control;
    • Accountable for the effective delivery of services commissioned by clients and provided by the functions under their control;
    • Accountable for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to customers;
    • Accountable for good governance in the day to day operation of the business functions under their control consistent with SfH policies and procedures;
    • Ensuring VFM in all activities undertaken in the functions under their control;
    • Supporting the Executive Director to achieve overall successful management and leadership of the directorate and the realisation of their business objectives;

    The post holder is responsible for the development, maintenance and operational support of the Skills for Health Realtime Rostering web application.

    The post holder will manage a range of assignments and projects which will be determined by the work programme within the overall framework of the operational plan. The post holder will work within Skills for Health policies and procedures.

    The post holder will

    1. Develop and maintain the Skills for Health Realtime Rostering web application, providing support to a wide range of external users.
    2. Manage the implementation of and training in the use of Skills for Health Realtime Rostering web application in client organisations.
    3. Project manage the development of new application functionality for the Realtime Rostering web application

    The post holder will oversee and ensure on behalf of the Senior Manager Technical Development (working closely with the Product Manager – E-learning) the day to day management of help desk, licence management and control in respect of users of Realtime Rostering.

    Support the work of the Technical Team as required and deemed appropriate by the Senior Manager Technical Development.
