Its purpose is to support the Sector Skills Council to help the whole health sector, which employs more than 2 million people across the UK, develop solutions that deliver a skilled and flexible workforce.

The National Skills Academy for Health has been approved by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and will formally launch later this year. The National Skills Academy for Health is an employer designed and membership led organisation. Through an Apprenticeship Training Agency, on-line services and practical support it will work with healthcare employers and training providers to improve the quality and grow the availability of high calibre training for the support workforce in the healthcare system.

The Head of Member Services will play a key role in the set up and operation of the National Skills Academy and will be a member of its senior management structure.  The successful applicant will lead a team of people responsible for ensuring that the NSA provides a relevant, up to date and value added suite of resources and services to its health employer and learning provider members, and that members’ interests and requirements are fully reflected in the NSA’s action plans and strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the vision and experience to make a significant contribution to skills development across the health sector.
