Skills for Health welcomes strong RCN congress support for Skills PassportThe RCN Congress (14th April 2011) voted with an 85% majority, to lobby for the Skills Passport for Health to be implemented across the NHS and other sectors where nurses are employed. The resolution, submitted by the RCN Cheshire East branch, highlighted some of the key benefits that the Skills Passport can offer the sector. Primarily focussing on increasing the speed at which nursing staff could begin practicing once employed into a new post and the vast financial savings that could be made through the reduction of unnecessary duplication of statutory and mandatory training.The RCN has provided stakeholder input into the development of the Skills Passport concept, has Strategy Group membership, and representation at many of the pilot sites being used to evaluate the Skills Passport. |
