Health & Social Care National Occupational Standards (NOS) ReviewThe Health and Social Care (HSC) National Occupational Standards (NOS) are jointly owned by Skills for Health and Skills for Care & Development, and are being reviewed by both sectors during this year. In recent weeks, people from across the UK have been taking part in sector events or responding to online surveys to let us know their views on the HSC NOS as they stand, and on how they’d like to see them updated. Everyone’s comments have been brought together so that we can start deciding on actual changes to be made. To see the ideas that were often repeated, click on the link below: These key messages will help us decide the ‘big picture’ of changes needed. The full set of comments will then be studied carefully again when we come to revise each NOS separately. As we make changes to the NOS, we will need to know if they are the right changes. This means that we will be asking for people’s views again, so there will be plenty of opportunities to take part in the review, even if you haven’t been able to do this so far. The first revised versions should be ready for comment by early September and then more will become available throughout the autumn. Keep checking this website at that time to find out how you can see the drafts and make your comments known. We will go on making changes as needed until the full set of revised NOS is available for final comment around the end of this year. Thank you for your interest in these reviews.
