Liberating the NHS: Developing the Healthcare Workforce22 December Effective skills development is vital for the health sector workforce and will become increasingly so as employers seek to implement new and more productive ways of working, in response to rising demand for services and a more challenging financial climate. Skills for Health has a strong track record of working with healthcare employers in the NHS, independent and voluntary sectors to address these challenges, through workforce transformation and development of the wider workforce team. We are encouraged that the Government continues to see an important role for Skills for Health within its new framework. We look forward to discussing the consultation proposals with health sector employers as part of our ongoing engagement programme, and will submit a formal response to the consultation in due course.
