Complementary and Natural Healthcare National Occupational Standards (NOS) approval

Skills for Health have recently completed the Complementary and Natural Healthcare project. The project identified common functions, such as assessment across different therapies and identified any relevant gaps for NOS development. The NOS that were rationalised are:

  • Alexander Technique
  • Aromatherapy
  • Bowen Technique
  • Cranial Therapy
  • Homeopathy
  • Massage
  • Nutritional Therapy
  • Naturopathy
  • Reflexology
  • Reiki
  • Shiatsu
  • Yoga Therapy

The project went through an extensive consultation process and then had to be submitted to UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) for approval.
